Bring your own key
Prefer to pay the AI provider yourself? Paste your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key in Settings. Your browser then talks to the provider directly — the request never passes through DiaryFast — and the daily limit no longer applies. Your key is stored only on your device.
Pricing questions
Do I lose my entries if I stop paying?
Never. Your journal lives on your device and stays fully readable, exportable and editable on the free plan. Even synced copies can still be downloaded to a new device after Pro ends.
When does the 24-hour pass start?
When you first use the key (or right after payment, in the browser you paid with). It then runs for 24 hours — enough for a full-month AI review, a PDF of your month and as many AI conversations as you like.
How do I cancel a subscription?
In the app: Settings → Manage subscription opens Stripe's customer portal, where you can cancel, change card or download invoices. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
Can I use Pro on my phone and my laptop?
Yes, in up to 5 browsers. Open Pro → I have a key and paste your key; turn on encrypted sync to keep entries in step.
What does "fair use" mean for unlimited AI?
Pro has a generous safety cap of 150 AI requests per day per browser, far above what anyone journaling needs. It only exists to stop automated abuse.
Can I get a refund?
Subscriptions can be refunded within 7 days of the first payment. 24-hour passes can't be refunded once the key has been used. Write to us through the contact page.
